Gabriel Hern is Chief Operations Officer and National Director. Since joining Apex Appraisal Service in 2016, Gabriel has spearheaded numerous initiatives including: Developing B2B Sales and Marketing Strategies, Social Media and Technology Integration, National Lender Acquisition and Client Satisfaction.
With a history of driving successful sales initiatives, Gabriel has developed long-term relationships with clients he acquires, believing in client retention as opposed to churn and burn tactics. Committed to knowledge, excellence, and service, his approach is to educate the clients he does business with. Gabriel has a huge heart for charities and is actively involved in his community and poverty alleviation, volunteering his extra time at Living Water International.
Before Apex Appraisal, Gabriel was a Broker and Mortgage Business Owner and has over a decade of experience in the mortgage industry. He resides in Roseville, CA, with his wife and 5 rambunctious children and enjoys spending his time going on adventures with his family, traveling, and attending sporting events.
Vice President of Business Development
Dave Houseman brings vision, dedication and industry expertise to Apex as the Vice President of Business Development. He is excited about the opportunity to expand the successful client-driven business model at Apex by providing a mixture of strategic direction with a sense of urgency and attention to detail. Dave has been in management for over 35 years, and his list of accomplishments is only out-matched by his generosity and larger than life personality.
Before joining Apex, Dave had a proven track record in the appraisal industry managing, creating and implementing results-oriented processes and procedures for over 6 years at Pinnacle Capital Mortgage. Largely due to his success, when Pinnace merged with Finance of America (FAM) they asked him to oversee and grow their appraisal department. Building on this knowledge, Mr. Houseman developed a vendor strategy model to leverage and expand the number of Appraisal Management Companies from 2 to 21 to meet FAM’s explosive growth in loan volume.
Mr. Housman led the industry in compliance over his 8-year tenure he had zero violations and scored in the highest levels (90+%) on over 60 audits. He did this by incorporating underwriting guideline requirements for all AMC’s to follow, resulting in quicker turn-a-round times, lower revision rates and saved hundreds of thousands of dollars in potential lock extensions or lost deals.
He chose to join Apex because out of the 21 AMC’s that he worked with at FAM, Apex had the highest level of service, integrity and world-class customer service. Not to mention that over the 8-year period he worked with Apex, they never had a single compliance violation.
Dave is married to his lovely wife and along with their 5 children and 6 grandchildren, they love to travel, have fun, attend sports events, visit amusement parks around the world and volunteer for charity events/fundraisers that benefit many local charities and organizations like Wounded Warriors, Cancer Foundation, Del Oro High School and SAC Food Locker.
Regional Sales Director
Anthony Rodriguez is the Senior Sales Executive. Anthony joined Apex in 2016 and is passionately driving new Client Acquisition and B2B Sales, managing portfolios as Account Manager, and maintaining client satisfaction of current client relationships. Known for his personable and charismatic disposition, Anthony continues to forefront numerous B2B sales initiatives within the company.
With over 12 years in the Mortgage and Real Estate Industry in executive, management, and sales roles, Anthony has a proven track record as Top Producer and has set and exceeded sales records at previous companies he was employed at prior to joining Apex. His experience of owning a day spa has developed his supreme customer service skills. He is actively involved in non-profit organizations such as Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, and Make-A-Wish Foundation. He proactively makes a difference by compassionately adopting family in need through Salvation Army during the holiday season.
Anthony resides in Folsom, CA with his wife Julia and 3 children and enjoys spending time with family and friends, fitness, and dirt bike riding.
Regional Sales Director
Brian Hopkins joined Apex Appraisal Service as the Regional Sales Director for the Southern California and Arizona regions. Brian is a highly accomplished business owner and executive leader in sales, operations management and finance.
Mr. Hopkins has a proven track record in developing sales strategies for operational excellence and employee/customer development. With over 30 years of success in the Insurance and Customer Service Industries, Brian knows that strategic agility, critical thinking and effective communication skills are key to increasing sales while cultivating and maturing long-lasting client relationships.
Over the last two decades, Brian has developed influential business to business and business to client relationships. He believes that optimum growth and success are achieved through a combination of top-down and bottom-up business strategies.
His experience with implementing "out of the box" strategies to increase sales, client retention and market share will help expand the Apex footprint throughout the west coast.
Brian and his fiancé, Eileen have enjoyed being a part of the Northern California scene for over 35 years raising their three daughters and volunteering in their community. And they are looking forward to starting a new chapter in life by becoming fully integrated into the Southern California culture and community.
Brian enjoys participating in competitive sports such as basketball and tennis. He is also actively involved in volunteering for community and church projects.
Regional Sales Director
Caleb Allen joins Apex Appraisal Service as the Pacific Northwest Regional Sales Director. For almost two decades, he has built a career in business development and relationship management. Caleb understands our industry and brings with him over ten years of experience in the lending world; starting as an originator and moving into various management positions with Mann Mortgage and Fairway Independent Mortgage. During this time, his greatest measurable success has come as a result of the direct focus on developing satisfying, long-term collaborations with clients in a very real, authentic manner. This sort of trust is earned and has been the hallmark of his career over the years.
Caleb resides in Western Washington with his wife Kristal and their four children. He enjoys snowboarding, kite-boarding, a good soccer match and his Chargers!

Stephanie Abercrombie is a Business Development and Client Retention Account
Executive at Apex. Stephanie joined Apex Appraisal in the beginning of 2017. Her passion and motivation for sales and client relationships have driven her in the sales industry for 17 years. Stephanie has many years of experience in gaining market knowledge, prospecting, networking, professionalism and territory management. Her goal is to partner with current and prospective clients in developing a rapport and providing new solutions and services to clients to fit their needs.
Previously Stephanie has worked in management level positions for the wine industry which included all aspects of the sales processes. Meeting new people and understanding their needs is her specialty. Because of her experience and desire to be as efficient as possible, Stephanie has developed an aptitude and understanding for client’s needs.
Stephanie resides in Rocklin, CA with her husband and 5 children. She enjoys anything and everything family related. Outside of work you will most likely find her cooking, laughing and supporting her kids in their various activities.
